  10.      Actually, it is a preprocesser that will access hi memory set up by  
  11. QEXT.SYS and store part of dv.exe there freeing up 45+K.  You rename it so  
  12. that when you type DC, the com file will execute first and then call the exe  
  13. file.  In order for xdv.com to not be used when QEXT is not installed,  
  14. Quarterdeck requires you to rename it to dv.com.  Otherwise, executing dv 
  15. will  execute the EXE file.

  36. Wait a minute, hold on..  There may or may not be physical memory in
  37. those RESERVED memory addresses from 640 - 1024.  So what you have
  38. is two expanded memory managers mapping in extended memory into
  39. the same addresses?  Doubt it seriously.

  41. You didn't mention anything about QEXT.SYS to give you bigger windows
  42. or is window size substandard to norton speed drills.

  44. I don't know, what you describe is very puzzling, however, what's your
  45. Landmark Speed?  Do you perform Speed Disk, Optune, and Veopt
  46. everynight to take care of those deadly frags? <grin>   David
